May we never lose our wonder

May we never lose our wonder. It's amazing how we can have a measure of understanding of something and all it takes is for us to turn our affection toward the Lord for just a short while and he can wow us like it's our first experience with Him. When I woke up, the first thing I saw and read on my phone was this verse.

Psalm 19:1-2 NIV The heavens declare the glory of God; the skies proclaim the work of his hands. [2] Day after day, they pour forth speech; night after night, they reveal knowledge.

(Read the rest of the chapter if you like) With every word read, I became freshly aware of just how small I was compared to my enormous creator. As I began sharing this with my wife Christina, I was flooded with emotions of reverence, gratitude, humility and love from the interaction with Him. Everything on our planet was made by Him and for Him. They're made to display His glory in all of its splendor.

Col 1:16 For in him all things were created: things in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or powers or rulers or authorities; all things have been created through him and for him.17 He is before all things, and in him all things hold together.

We (Mankind) are the only ones who have the God-given right to choose if we will willingly ascribe worth to Him. He has set before us Life and Death .....with a longing for us to choose HIM (Deuteronomy 30:19 This day I call the heavens and the earth as witnesses against you that I have set before you life and death, blessings and curses).

The intent of our Father is, was, and always will be for us to be in relationship with Him, deep intimate relationship with Him. The humbling fact that the Almighty, all knowing, all loving, creator of the universe holds us in such high esteem is overwhelming (to say the least). It is incomprehensible that the relational dynamics are so uneven, yet His desires are so intense for us. Who is man that God is so mindful of us?

Heb 2:6-8 “What is mankind that you are mindful of them, a son of man that you care for him? You made them a little[a] lower than the angels; you crowned them with glory and honor and put everything under their feet.

Yes.....us, mankind. How "WE" humans can sometimes be so arrogant, ungrateful, and disobedient and STILL be held in such high regard further supports the fact that His ways are so much higher than our ways. Isaiah 55:9 says "As the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts." This is not hyperbole.

Who is like our God? There's no one like our God.

The countless acts of love, grace, forgiveness, and mercy that He's shown throughout the centuries, not to mention the brilliance in the details of the design of the human body alone, still leaves some of the most accomplished minds in the science world scratching their heads. The treasures of knowledge hidden in the stars and creation alike can't help but leave you in awe of who He is. We have access to all of it, if we so choose. All that being said, let us make and keep the song " So Will I " as the anthem of our walk with Him. Here's a portion of the lyrics. If you don't know it, I encourage you to just...... read the words. It encapsulates the heart of the verses from Psalm 19 above in my opinion. If the stars were made to worship, so will I If the mountains bow in reverence, so will I If the oceans roar Your greatness, so will I For if everything exists to lift You high, so will I If the wind goes where You send it, so will I If the rocks cry out in silence, so will I If the sum of all our praises still falls shy Then we'll sing again a hundred billion times So Will I
